Wema, ALAT and *945#

ALAT is a digital bank run by Wema, not a separate bank. An ALAT account is a Wema account, so *945# works for it too. Wema says *945# can even make POS payments without a Wema or ALAT card. If someone asks for your 'ALAT bank' when sending money, choose Wema Bank.

Wema Bank code for transfer

*945*AccountNumber*Amount# works for Wema and other banks. Like UBA, Wema puts the account number before the amount, which catches out people used to GTBank's order.

In practice the Wema Bank code for transfer looks like *945*0123456789*5000# to send ₦5,000 to that account. Wema calls it one code for Wema accounts and other banks, so you don't swap digits for an inter-bank payment the way you do with UBA or GTBank. Confirm the recipient name the menu shows, then enter the 4-digit PIN you set at registration.

If you bank through the ALAT app, the transfer code is the same, because ALAT accounts are Wema accounts. Dial from the phone number linked to your account. If the code asks you to register, complete *945*01# first. You'll need your account number and date of birth, but no card.

Registering on *945*01#

Wema's registration doesn't need a card. Dial *945*01#, enter your account number and date of birth (DD-MM-YYYY), then choose and confirm a 4-digit PIN. Change it later on *945*00#.

Restricting your account

Wema's main USSD page lists *945*911# to restrict your account, but its help centre lists *945*991#. If one fails, try the other and call Wema straight away.
