Editorial policy

A wrong code can send money to the wrong place or lock you out of your account. This page explains how we decide what to publish.

Official sources only

Every code we publish is checked against an official source: the bank or app's own website, its verified social media accounts, its in-app help pages, or the Central Bank of Nigeria. We do not copy codes from other directories, forums or blogs.

Last verified date on every page

Each page that carries a code shows a "Verified" date and a link to the exact source we checked. If a code has no official source we can link to, we do not publish it.

Rechecking

We recheck codes on a regular schedule and whenever a bank announces a change. When a code is updated, the verified date changes with it.

Corrections

If a reader reports a problem, we recheck the code against the official source. Confirmed errors are corrected promptly and the verified date is updated.

Independence

No bank or app pays to be listed or to influence what we write. If that ever changes for any page, it will be clearly labelled.
