Zenith Bank SWIFT code and bank code

Zenith Bank's CBN bank code is 057, used for transfers within Nigeria. For transfers from abroad you need its SWIFT code. Zenith's SWIFT page was blocked when we checked, so we haven't confirmed the code and don't list it.

SWIFT code vs bank code

A SWIFT code identifies a bank internationally. Foreign senders need it to wire money to a Zenith account. 057 is the domestic code for Nigerian systems such as NIP, which Zenith describes as instant, and NEFT, which Zenith says takes about 24 hours. If the payment starts in Nigeria, you only need 057, and apps fill it in for you.

Before giving a SWIFT code to a foreign sender, get it from Zenith directly or from your account documents, not from an unofficial list.

What Zenith's 057 code is used for

The 3-digit code identifies Zenith Bank as a bank, not a branch. You'll see it on manual transfer and payment forms, in the bulk payment files businesses upload to pay staff and suppliers, and in reconciliation reports, where it tells you which bank each payment went to. Everyday phone and app transfers fill it in for you when you pick the bank from a list.

057 vs *966#

*966# is Zenith's USSD code, the one you dial to transfer, check your balance or open an account. 057 is never dialled.
